Affiliate Poster Proposal

The Council of Affiliates (CoA) is the representative body of APHA that represents 53 affiliates: one for each state, one for Washington, DC and two in California and New York. The CoA is inviting Affiliates to propose poster abstracts for acceptance and exhibition at the 142nd APHA Annual Meeting & Exposition in New Orleans, LA, November 15-19, 2014. This year's conference theme is Healthography: How where you live affects your health and well-being. Poster proposals can be on any public health-related topic and should represent a project sponsored by your Affiliate or any of your Affiliate members (individuals or groups).

Affiliate posters accepted for exhibition at the annual meeting will be judged by a sub-committee of the CoA, and top winners will be selected and recognized. The deadline for submitting poster abstracts is May 15, 2014.   Authors will be contacted in early August regarding poster abstract selection for exhibition. Posters accepted for exhibition at the annual meeting will be judged by a sub-committee of the CoA, and a winner will be selected and awarded a certificate for their work. Undergraduate and Graduate Student Poster Contests

The Council of Affiliates (CoA) is the representative body of APHA that represents 53 affiliates: one for each state, one for Washington, DC and two in California and New York. The CoA is sponsoring two student poster sessions for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in public health-related coursework. Students are encouraged to submit proposals for public health-related work they have either recently completed or in the process of completing for exhibition at the 142nd APHA Annual Meeting & Exposition in New Orleans, LA, November 15-19, 2014. This year's conference theme is Healthography: How where you live affects your health and well-being. Poster proposals can be on any public health-related topic and should represent a project sponsored by your Affiliate or any of your Affiliate members (individuals or groups).

For the 2014 APHA annual meeting, the student poster contest will be comprised of two sessions of high-caliber abstracts. One poster session will be exclusively for abstracts written by undergraduate students to highlight their public health-related activities and research. The other session will be open to graduate students only (master and doctoral levels) interested in sharing their research and experience in public health. Student posters accepted for exhibition at the annual meeting will be judged by a sub-committee of the CoA, and top winners will be selected and awarded a cash prize of $100 and a certificate acknowledging their work.

The deadline for submitting poster abstracts is May 15th, 2014. Authors will be contacted in early August regarding poster abstract selection for exhibition.
