CALL FOR ABSTRACTS — 143rd APHA Annual Meeting and Exposition

Caucus on Homelessness

Meeting theme: Health in All Policies

Submission Deadline: Thursday, February 12, 2015

The Caucus invites abstracts on research, epidemiology, policy, legislation, advocacy, and service delivery issues pertaining to homelessness and homeless populations. The theme of the 2015 meeting is: Health in all policies. As you can imagine, the Caucus on Homelessness was highly supportive of this choice of theme and we are looking forward to highlighting this framework in the context of the vulnerable people and populations we work with, in, and for.
Topics of interest for this year's program include, but are not limited to:
  • Design and evaluation of effective housing interventions
  • Design and evaluation of interventions for specific populations
  • Evidenced based practices for services targeted to individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Issues related to health policy and impact on homelessness
  • Novel methods or challenges in conducting research with individuals experiencing homelessness
IMPORTANT! You do not need to be an APHA member to submit an abstract. However, if your abstract is accepted for presentation, the presenting author MUST become an APHA Individual member and you MUST register for the Annual Meeting by the September pre-registration deadline. (APHA LI faculty excluded). Submission of an abstract implies a commitment to make the presentation at the annual meeting, therefore please make sure you understand what is required of you before submitting.

Abstracts with student researchers as senior authors are encouraged. The Caucus on Homelessness will present an award for the best student abstract submitted. The abstract will be selected by a committee. Please notify the program committee in the comments section if you are submitting a student abstract, so that it can be considered for this award. For additional information contact the program chair.
