Explain the “Health Implications Checklist,” a tool designed by Lane County Public Health to assist staff without public health training in all county departments to identify, evaluate, and briefly communicate the potential health impact – both positive and negative – of a policy, program, or action proposed to the Board of Health/County Commissioners.
Describe the updated changes to Lane County’s Administrative Procedures Manual requiring that all proposals brought before the Board of Health/Commissioners incorporate a brief health analysis.
Discuss the methods and preliminary results of an evaluation of the implementation and impact of this new policy, including extent of adoption, quality of related health impact analyses, and extent to which the analyses inform and guide proposals and Board decisions.
