Implementing and evaluating evidence-based strategies

Once an evidence-based approach (EBA) is adopted, high quality implementation planning and evaluation is key to increase the likelihood of successful health outcomes. This session covers implementation topics of fidelity to the original evidence-based approach, factors for quality implementation, phases of implementation and design of a workplan for action planning.  In addition, we will present evaluation steps, and tools such as the RE-AIM framework as they apply to implementation of EBAs, and designing an evaluation for an EBA.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Dr. Escoffery is an Associate Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Health Education at the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University. She has 19 years of experience as a health educator, is training-core lead for Emory's Cancer Prevention Center, and has conducted multiple local and national trainings on how to locate, select and adopt evidence-based practices. She also has published articles on training and capacity building for adoption of evidence-based approaches.
