Web-based systems are being used for many different purposes, from professional task management to document collaboration. Historically, the field of public health has been slow to adopt new technology due to costs or lack of IT support. The design of user-friendly low-cost web-based platforms have the ability to greatly improve many administrative tasks completed daily within public health settings, especially in the area of project and contract management. By moving various routine processes to a digital platform, web-based systems allow for increased transparency and collaboration and consequentially increased productivity.

The Pacific Center for Special Care at University of the Pacific has received over $23 million in grants and developed simple systems toolkits for managing grant activities including innovative, low-cost web options that focus on streamlining fiscal and contractual processes. This presentation will describe the web-based tools, the impact they have had on existing systems and the process used to implement them in a public health setting. It will also present the outcomes visible through implementation of these tools, and offer a tested web-based toolkit to streamline your grant operations.
