The Smarter Public Health Prevention System (SPHPS) integrates Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Decision Support Systems (DSS) to visually display OSHA work-related injuries and illnesses, and provides health care providers with an insightful contextual analysis tool for collaborative decision making. In order to facilitate a healthy healthcare work force, it is important that healthcare organizations have the capability to respond to immediate health threats in real-time. This presentation introduces the audience to the Smarter Public Health Prevention System (SPHPS) that incorporates both a population centric view and patient centric view to form a cloud-knowledge discovery environment to drive knowledge based decisions in real-time. The SPHPS is based on the theory that the gravitational force between two objects, which are population health and patient-centered care, is workforce health protection or occupational health.
