Everybody in Gyeongju city will be protected by diseases and right to happiness of healthy life. So health is the essential to promote Quality of Life and it is accomplished by harmonizing actively administrative efforts and community participation.

Gyeonju City initiated community health promotion programs in 1995, healthy city project in 2011, and healing programs in 2013. Gyeonju City is a member of the Alliance for Healthy Cities (AFHC) in Asia-Pacific region.

The Goals of Healthy City Gyeongju are "Level of Physical Mental, and Social Health is Improved" and "Gap of Health Inequality among Areas is narrowed down".  The Strategies of Healthy City Gyeongju are 3 Sections (Happy Healthy City, Healing City of Sharing, Creative City with Participation) and 9 Tasks (Creating Healthy Setting, Healthy Heart & Brain Project, Healthy and Safe Foods, Healing City, Age-Friendly City, Healthy and Safe Network Project, Active Living City, Safe & Environmentally Excellent City, U (New)-Healthy City). The main projects of Healing City in Healthy City Gyeongju are 'Healing 5-step Program and Healing Academy' and 'International Healing Center'. 'Healing 5-step Program and Healing Academy' are providing information to support cure & treatment through healing specialist and courses to improve natural power immunity through self healing such as healing tourism, natural healing, emotional healing, healing yoga & meditation, recovering relationship. 'International Healing Center' in  Dongguk University Gyeonju Hospital offers holistic healing programs and services to improve quality of life beyond diagnosis of diseases and treat-centered.

 Although Healthy & Healing City Gyeongju is just beginning, we will concentrate on improvement of health for all citizen and sustainable development.
