The presentation centers on the implementation of advanced dental therapists in Minnesota, the first state to successfully advance the innovative model and a critical case study for similar efforts across the United States. The Otto Bremer Foundation provided funding to Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry to create this series of film clips discussing how these providers have been introduced into the oral health care delivery team in Minnesota.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am the Director of Governmental Affairs for the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) where I oversee state-level legislative activities across the country and execute and advance initiatives at the federal level to improve the public’s oral and overall health. Prior to working at the ADHA, I served in the Minnesota State Senate from 2007-2010. I was the chief author of legislation that created the mid-level dental practitioner in Minnesota.
