The presentation will describe the ways MPHA has been involved in partnering with the Mississippi State Department of Health in promotion of its accreditation efforts. Describe the training around Performance Management conducted with APHA grant funds and the role that has played in assisting accreditation in Mississippi. Lastly, review key findings and directions through the state health assesments and the role MPHA has played to assist creating a Healthier Mississippi.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have worked with MSDH to encourage and educate the state, district and local health departments in Mississippi about voluntary national accreditation. I’ve worked with other organizations to promote participation in the State’s campaign to support accreditation, “Building a Healthier Mississippi,” I participated in the PHAB Beta test at MSDH and serve on the State Advisory Board for Public Health Accreditation. I am a member of the QI workgroup and the Workforce Development planning group.
