Racism and its manifestation in discrimination stand in opposition to principles set forth in the Bill of Human Rights as well as those rights enunciated in more specific international treaties and agreements.  Racial discrimination and race based injustice and oppression can and do deny the right to the highest attainable standard of health.  Public health and other health workers must recognize and address challenges to the right to health posed by racism and discrimination.
