The private sector business and non-profit organizations can play an important role in expanding opportunities in diverse communities through inclusive employment policies and workforce development practices, by facilitating access to and availability of quality housing, and through sustainability initiatives, to name just a few examples. By contributing to economic and community development, to social stability and increased personal self-efficacy, such efforts help to create and maintain vibrant places and supportive conditions for well-being and improved health outcomes.
