Inter-section Forum on Climate Change

Tuesday, November 3, 2015: 6:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Business Meeting
The members of the Topic Committee on Climate Change and Health in APHA’s Environment Section, working with members from the International Health Section, Law Section, and Veterinary Public Health Special Primary Interest Group, will convene this meeting directed at members from across APHA’s Sections, Caucuses, and Affiliates, in order to discuss the cross-cutting ways that Climate Change is affecting the community of public health practice and the people whose health we as an organization are striving to protect. The purpose of the session is to facilitate a structured introduction to the cross-sectional activities on climate change, offer a question and answer period, and especially to allow time for a discussion of climate change that is inclusive of members and issues across all Sections. The overarching goal of this session is to build relationships among APHA components on the issue of climate change and to foster continued dialogue and collaborations among these groups. We expect this session will build on current efforts to collaborate on climate change across APHA components; in particular, we expect to identify several tangible short-term goals for cross-sectional collaborations on climate change.
