This presentation will consider community-based public health and CBPR from the perspectives of an alumnus and a mentor from the W.K. Kellogg Community Health Scholars Program. The discussion will highlight the role of mentor and mentee; the motivations for using a CBPR approach as a scholar of color; and the challenges of balancing CBPR and metrics of success in academic institutions.
