Meeting theme: Creating the Healthiest Nation: Ensuring the Right to Health
Submission Deadline: Sunday, March 6, 2016
Topics considered will include those covering the full spectrum of issues of impact and importance to those interested in One Health (animal - human interaction, zoonoses, food safety, and veterinary public health). The program will consist of two or three 90 minute sessions of 15 - 20 minute papers in addition to a poster session addressing the following recommended topics:
Animal hoarding, feral/stray animals, animal trafficking, and animal shelters
Benefits of the human-animal interaction
Emerging and re-emerging diseases internationally and the One Health perspective
Environmental impacts and zoonotic diseases
Linkages between domestic violence in people and animals
Occupational risks for zoonotic disease exposures (including antimicrobial resistance)
One Health and the total family health concept (pets inclusion in disaster epidemiology and preparedness)
All accepted abstracts will be grouped into appropriate sessions using the above suggestions as a guide; however, all veterinary public health topics will be considered.
