Check your browser’s caching status.  Otherwise your browser may display an older version of a page that you have changed, and it will appear that your changes did not "take".

FOR WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEMS:

 

For Internet Explorer 5.0, or 5.5, go Tools Internet Options - General - Temporary Internet files - Settings - click the Every visit to the page button under Check for newer versions of stored pages. Also "clear" your cache by clicking the Delete files button in the Temporary Internet files.

 

For Netscape Versions 4 and later (through 6.2): Edit - Preferences - Advanced - Cache: Select Every time for Document in cache is compared to document on network:

Also click the Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache buttons.

 

For America On-Line (AOL) 6.0 and 7.0:

Settings - Preferences - click on Internet Properties (WWW), then a panel labeled AOL Internet Properties (or Options in some versions) will appear. Go to the section Temporary Internet files - Click on the Settings button - click the Every visit to the page button under Check for newer versions of stored pages. Also "clear" your cache by clicking the Delete files button in the Temporary Internet files section.

AOL users: You may have to reboot your computer after making changes to your preferences.

 

For America On-Line (AOL) 5.0:

My AOL - Preferences - click on the Icon labeled WWW, then a panel labeled AOL Internet Properties (or Options in some versions) will appear. Go to the section Temporary Internet files - Click on the Settings button - click the Every visit to the page button under Check for newer versions of stored pages. Also "clear" your cache by clicking the Delete files button in the Temporary Internet files section.

 

For Opera 5.0:

File - Preferences - History and Cache -under the Check Modified section be sure all the Always circles are selected. Click the Empty Now button in the Disk Cache section.

 

FOR MACINTOSH SYSTEMS:

For Internet Explorer 5.1 for Mac OS X, Explorer - Preferences - Web Browser - Advanced. In the right side of the panel where it says Cache, click on the Always check circle where it says Update Pages. Then click on the Empty Now button.

For Internet Explorer 4 or 5.0, Edit - Preferences - Web Browser - Advanced. In the right side of the panel where it says Cache, click on the Always check circle where it says Update Pages. Then click on the Empty Now button.

 

For Netscape, Edit - Preferences - Web Browser - Advanced. In the right side of the panel where it says Cache, click on the Always check circle where it says Page in cache is compared to page on network. Then click on the Clear Disk Cache Now button.
