Friday, June 24, 2011: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Oral
Increased access to insurance coverage may create the impression that safety net and other public health services are no longer needed. Community-based health care delivery programs as well as population based interventions to prevent injury and disease and promote wellness may be impacted at a time when public health department funds are more limited than ever. This session will focus on innovative actions taken to maintain and adapt potentially impacted public health programs such as tobacco prevention, case management services, breast and cervical cancer prevention and other similar programs.
