The report For the Public's Health: Investing in a Healthier Future offers recommendations for transforming the dysfunctional ways in which public health funding is allocated and used, and for identifying an adequate, stable, and sustainable source of funding for the nation's public health departments. This is a two-pronged solution to strengthening the US public health enterprise to improve the nation's health, currently lagging behind the average among US peers, and to ensure better value for the nation's health investments.
