273013 Enumeration of the public health workforce: Implications for the future efforts in the field

Enumeration of the public health workforce continues to be an activity that is somewhat elusive in getting a systemic and systematic effort in place for an accurate and consistent count of our public health workers. Current efforts to address this issue are being supported by key federal government agencies. Strategies for enumeration are being considered by relevant stakeholders. Giving these activities, this presentation will examine what is going on and what are some implications for the future of the public health workforce

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: With over 35 years working in the field of public health in a variety of program and policy level positions. I was assigned to work with the APHA on public health workforce issues and have been on committees and task forces dealing with public health issues affecting the workforce. Currently, I am one of three APHA members appointed to the Council on Education for Public Health which accredits schools and programs of public health.
