Executing successful advocacy is essential to create and defend strong public health policy. This workshop will cover the how, what and where of public policy advocacy and how the public health community can focus our advocacy efforts for success.

I am the Executive Secretary for the Montana Public Health Association and have served in the capacity of chairperson of the MPHA Advocacy and Policy committee 6 years. I have been actively engaged in the Montana legislative process researching issues, testifying before committees, and meeting with lawmakers. On the federal level, I have participated in numerous public health related advocacy fly-in meetings. I agree to comply with the American Public Health Association Conflict of Interest and Commercial Support Guidelines, and to disclose to the participants any off-label or experimental uses of a commercial product or service discussed in my presentation.
