The presentation will provide an overview of CDC's role in public health information exchange, focusing on the successes of the Public Health Information Network (PHIN) and the involvement of public health in Meaningful Use (MU). The session will cover successes, opportunities , and challenges around public health information exchange.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: As Director of DIPPC, I am responsible for several programs to include public health network, public health informatics centers of excellence, public health-clinical decision support, health IT standards and policies and communications to supports these activities. I have worked at CDC for 13 years as an Informatics Health Scientist in various areas to include knowledge management, public health and clinical decision support.
