States as well as employers, providers, and families are transitioning to a new health and healthcare delivery system. From the perspective as lead strategist for the Governor, Joe Thompson, MD, Surgeon General for the State of Arkansas, will share strategies, insights, and ongoing challenges for state leadership with particular attention on transitions for the field of public health.

He is responsible for developing health policy, research activities and collaborative programs that promote better health and health care in Arkansas.
