Half of all new HIV infections are thought to occur in young people under the age of 25. The delay between HIV infection and the onset of Aids means that many of these young people were infected with HIV as teenagers. Therefore prevention efforts targeted to this population is critical in controlling the spread of HIV and Aids. To support these efforts, the National Association of Community Health Center's Adolescent and School Health Initiative launched a program that trained HealthCorps volunteers in the use of a curriculum geared to HIV prevention among adolescents. This workshop will assess the success of these volunteers in attempting to modify the risk behaviors of the adolescents with whom they implemented the curriculum

Learning Objectives: 1. Articulate key elements of a skills-building workshop on HIVprevention education for HealthCorps volunteers. 2. Discuss the fidelity of application of the HIV prevention curriculum once HealthCorps volunteers return to their communities. 3. Assess the success of HealthCorps volunteers in attempting to modify adolescent risk behaviors.
