This session brings together topics about health promotion techniques that include Alternative and Complimentary Health Practices (ACHP). Authors will be discussing details integrated health promotion such as: 1) Understanding the application of the Cochrane methodology to CAM practices; 2) Assessing baseline iron levels as part of a strategy to encourage voluntary blood donation in healthy males; 3) Categorizing conditions under which young people use herbs and dietary supplements; 4) Exploring the use of yoga in arthritis and other chronic disease management. Session Objectives: 1) Define mind-body health promotion practices that are supported with scientific evidence; 2) Identify strategies for encouraging voluntary blood donation; 3) Describe use of herbs and dietary supplements among young adults; 4) Evaluate health promotion approaches that incorporate ACHP.
