Since early public health interventions, often focusing on environmental health concerns, were often trial and error, there has been a move to create an evidence-base approach to public health interventions. Finding the balance between adhering to the evidence while moving forward with critical services and program to improve the nation’s health is always a challenge but is becoming more important in this fiscal climate. This session will focus on some of the approaches currently underway by the federal government to help establish a evidence-based approach to the field of public health and highlight the benefits to healthier communities.
Session Objectives: 1. Access innovative communication and outreach approaches to public health interventions 2. Identify the balance between adhering to evidence base while moving forward to critical services
