This paper will discuss how Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders can achieve success in their public health careers. Panel discussants will bring with them varied perspectives from their observations on this issue. The session topic will be general enough for participants to gain better understanding of their public health careers - be it research, policy, program, education, clinical practice or others. Parallel with the APHA meeting theme in the Year 2000, Asian / Pacific Americans strive to promote a future of equity and inclusiveness in public health policies and health practices. As members of the fastest growing and most diverse group in this country, Asian / Pacific Americans in the public health workforce are in an unique position to positively impact public health and exemplify success in this field.

Learning Objectives: During this session, panelists will discuss successful elements that Asian / Pacific Americans can apply to their public health careers. Participants will gain perspectives and better understanding toward achievement in their public health careers
