This session describes successful techniques that staff can use to recruit culturally diverse population to their programs. It is based on a model our agency used over a sixteen year period. This model is a blend of applied commercial marketing approaches coupled with grass-roots, collaborative, multi-cultural, multi-organizational communication efforts. The learning objectives for this session are: Identify the five components of a complete marketing analysis Describe successful techniques to recruiting patients from culturally diverse backgrounds to your programs and services List affordable marketing strategies that increase participation This increasingly diverse population within the United States speaks to the need for provider education in cross-cultural competency training. Large and growing number of non-English speaking patients, coupled with the scarcity of multicultural medical personnel, has led to lack of access to quality care in our health care delivery system. Even with today’s increased use of and reliance on sophisticated medical technology and tests, accurate diagnosis and effective treatment depend upon clear communication. This session would benefit administrators and all those interested in increasing access to health care for diverse populations.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participants will be able to: 1. Identify five components of a complete marketing analysis 2. Describe successful techniques in recruiting patients from culturally diverse backgrounds 3. List affordable marketing strategies that increase participation
