Coordinating consumer representation across eight study sites

Phil Meyer, LCSW, Consumers' Liaison for the HIV/AIDS Treatment Adherence, Health Outcomes and Cost Study, will discuss the challenges inherent in coordinating consumer representation for an eight-city, multi-site study. The importance of consumer input both in research and service provision will be explored. Practical suggestions for development, implementation and retention of local consumer advisory groups will be provided.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to: 1) Identify challenges posed in establishing cross-site consumer representation 2) Articulate the importance of utlizing consumer representation in service provision and research 3) Apply concepts to the development and retention of their own consumer groups
