Deborah Dennis, MA and Deborah Dennis, MA. National Resource Center on Homelessness and Mental Illness, Policy Research Associates, Inc, 262 Delaware Ave, Delmar, NY 12054

Partnerships among service providers become increasingly critical as we recognize the diversity of those who experience homelessness and the range of community resources that need to be mobilized. HUD's emphasis on communities developing a continuum of care to address homelessness has done much to foster these partnerships. This session will present research that illuminates what makes for successful partnerships, how such bodies function, what characterizes their effectiveness, and what we know about their longevity.

Learning Objectives: Learning objectives: To recognize and evaluate current policies for serving homeless persons and to identify and describe areas in which new policies and service practices may be appropriate
