Minority Health Public-Private Partnerships: Minnesota Department of Health Perspective

Ryan Church, MBA, Minnesota Department of Health, Metro Office Building, 121 East 7th Place, St. Paul, MN 55164, 651-296-9720, N/A

In 1997, the Minnesota Department of Health and the Urban Coalition issued Populations of Color in Minnesota: Health Status Report, which showed a growing minority health gap in Minnesota. The presenter will describe model programs that demonstrate public-private partnerships and "lessons learned" in serving low-income populations and populations of color.

The Department supports and fosters innovative public-private partnerships that build capacity in community agencies, such as Project REACH.

Learning Objectives: 1) identify areas for collaboration 2) identify strategies for measuring community health improvement
