Participants in the CDC/ASPH Institute for HIV Prevention Leadership will complete an Integrative Learning Experience (ILE) during the periods between the four on-site sessions. The ILE is a component of the Institute in which participants will practice applying key concepts in strategic management and public health prevention to practical situations within their own programs or community-based organizations. The structure of the ILE is designed to assist participants in unifying the key concepts presented during the Institute. Participants will be given cumulative assignments which must be completed by working with appropriate personnel in their CBOs. These assignments include the development of a program or agency strategic plan related to one business/operational priority as well as the design, implementation and evaluation plan for a prevention program. The completion of these exercises in collaboration with the Executive Director and other CBO staff is designed specifically to disseminate knowledge and skills, thereby enhancing the CBO's capacity to deliver effective HIV prevention programs.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1.Articulate the rationale for using the Integrative Learning Experience as a tool for capacity-building 2.Explain how the Integrative Learning Experience integrates public health prevention and strategic management aspects
