Among the 29 U.S. accredited Schools of Public Health, there are currently at least 16 joint or dual degree programs with accredited Schools of Social Work. Such programs are under consideration in at least two more universities. These programs offer exceptional opportunities to students who wish to practice social work in public health settings, but are constantly undergoing change and reevaluation as our fields respond to external demands.
In this roundtable, we plan to develop linkages among faculty from Schools of Public Health and Schools of Social Work in order to increase opportunities for future discussion and other forms of interaction. We will share information about our programs, and problem-solve common difficulties.
We extend a specfic invitation to faculty who teach in these programs, to faculty who are considering such programs, and others, including service providers and students, who are interested in MSW/MPH programs.
