Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence: Translating the Findings from the Updated AHCPR Clinical Practice Guideline for Smoking Cessation into Practice

The Public Health Service Document on the Updated AHCPR Clinical Practice Guideline for Smoking Cessation, will be published in May 2000. Contractual obligations forbid discussing specifics regarding the project prior to publication. Upon publication of the Update, this Abstract will be amended to discuss translating the Updated Guideline's findings into practice, with a discussion of Guideline strategies for Brief Interventions, Intense Interventions, and Interventions for Health Care Systems.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant in this session will be able to describe and utilize strategies for implementing the findings of the Updated AHCPR Clinical Practice Guideline for Smoking Cessation
