Putting Prevention into Practice

This workshop will present and foster dialogue about the future of mental health and substance abuse prevention. Prevention intervention researchers, practitioners, and community stakeholders in the public health sector will come together to think about how evidenced based practices can best be incorporated into existing work. Participants will be asked to strategize solutions to common barriers that have limited the replication of preventive interventions and the translation of research into practice. This workshop will help lay the foundation for futures initiative focused on taking preventive interventions to scale in communities.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe importance of evidenced-based preventive intervnetions.
  2. Identify barriers to replication of prevnetion programs in communities.
  3. Create stratgies for addressing identified barriers to replication.
