This panel presents the results of an evaluation of an agency representative payee (RP) program funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The RP program features an agency bank that works with clients and case managers to prevent homelessness and improve quality of life among adults who (1) are formerly homeless or at-risk for homelessness, (2) have a serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder, and (3) are engaged with the mental health treatment system. The clients have lost or never developed the financial skills needed to maintain a household. More specifically, this panel presents a regression discontinuity analysis testing RP's effectiveness on the following hypotheses: 1) improved financial stability, 2) more stablehousing, 3) reduced hospitalization, 4) less mental health symptomatology,5) less legal system involvement.

Learning Objectives: Participants will gain an understanding of representative payeeship as implemented in a community mental health agency that features its own banking system
