Dawn Walker, Canadian Institute on Child Health, 384 Bank Street, Suite 300, Ottawa, ON K2P 1Y4, Canada, 613.230.8838, dwalker@cich.ca

Preventing the effects of environmental degradation to human health in particular child health is a fundamental component of sound environmental policy and decision-making. The need exists for an international forum focused on childrens environmental health, to ensure that we conduct the necessary research, share the latest data, link with colleagues from other regions, and strengthen the interdisciplinary and international nature of childrens environmental health work. INCHES (International Network on Childrens Health, Environment, and Safety) will aspire to meet this need.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to 1) discuss the goals of INCHES, and 2) recognize how INCHES will function as a coordinating structure for organizations
