Abstract #17172

Review of Recent Epidemiological Studies of Vietnam Veterans

H.K Kang, Department of Veterans Affairs, Washington D.C, , N/A

Almost three decades have elapsed since the last troops returned from the Vietnam War. During this period, U.S. government has spent considerable resources to investigate the health concerns expressed by Vietnam veterans, Congress, and the public at large. Many important questions have been answered, while some remained unanswered. Several health studies of U.S. Vietnam veterans and Korean Vietnam veterans are recently completed. This review will update and discuss recently published studies as well as the on-going veterans' health studies. In addition, recent U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' actions related to Vietnam veterans will be discussed.
