This presentation will describe a study of the quality of care for adult Medicaid beneficiaries treated for schizophrenia and living in Massachusetts. We compare those whose care is managed with those whose care is not managed. We describe the enrollment process when beneficiaries present at emergency screening teams to be evaluated for inpatient admission. We preseent preliminary data on their status at the time of evaluation and the likelihood of being admitted, controlling for socio-demographic factors, mental health status, legal status at the time of the evaluation, and whether care is managed or not managed.
