Disseminating CHIS data to a broad range of users

Jeff Luck, MBA, PhD, UCLA School of Public Health, Box 951772, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1772, 310/206-4744, jluck@ucla.edu

CHIS has developed an ambitious dissemination strategy to make data available and accessible to a wide range of users—including researchers, policy analysts, planners, and advocates—with differing analytic capabilities. CHIS data will be disseminated through public-use data files, Web-based data estimates tailored to the users’ needs, published reports, and other methods. Technical assistance will be available to local health departments, community-based organizations, and other agencies to enable them to use CHIS’s county-level data to address specific health needs at the local level. Technical assistance will also help advocacy organizations address health needs of particular population groups and identify health disparities.
