Why coordination among national, state, and local health surveys is important

An overview of the issues and objectives that led to increased coordination among national, state, and local health surveys. The difficulties and opportunities for coordination also will be discussed, including the potential roles of federal, state, and local agencies and organizations. The experience of the National Center for Health Statistics in coordination of population-based health surveys among federal agencies and with state agencies.
