The Health Access of Asian Americans

This article discusses the health care access status of Asian Americans. The definition of Asian Americans is given. Their health status is discussed, as are their utilization of health services and their health behaviors. The author also discusses barriers to their access to adequate services and those of good quality including cultural barriers and inadequate health insurance coverage. Differences between elderly and nonelderly are noted where data are available. Furthermore, the actions that have been taken by the government and society to deal with this problem are discussed and future recommendations are given.
