The National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control. A special NDEP American Indian Campaign was developed in recognition of the high rates of diabetes in American Indian communities. Under the guidance of a workgroup of American Indian health professionals and community members, culturally competent TV and radio public service announcements were developed, along with print ads that highlight the campaign message "Control your Diabetes for Future Generations." For the past year, the Association of American Indian Physicians, in collaboration with the NDEP American Indian workgroup, has taken the lead in dissemination of these campaign materials to American Indian communities. During this presentation, an update will be provided on the current dissemination activities of the NDEP American Indian campaign and participants will learn how they can use these educational materials in their communities.

Learning Objectives: -describe the components of the NDEP American Indian campaign - understand the plans for dissemination of campaign products - identify at least 3 ways to use the campaign materials in their community

Keywords: Diabetes, American Indians
