This presentation will review the history and current status of the New England Lead Coordinating Committees Keep It Clean Campaign (KICC). The campaign is a partnership between lead poisoning prevention programs and advocates and local hardware stores across New England to educate consumers about lead-safe renovation. All six New England States, supported by EPA - New England pooled resources to develop brochures and posters for display in stores. They developed a live training for hardware store employees and a video refresher training. A full evaluation has been conducted. The KICC campaign represents a unique model for using community based businesses to target and deliver environmental health messages.

Learning Objectives: The instructor/faculty will describe the Keep It Clean Campaign model focusing on the key ingredients of a successful collaboration with local hardware stores, results of the needs assessment and evaluation. Participants will be able to apply the lessons of the KICC campaign and devlop thier own KICC campaigns in other regions of the country
