Moral Judgements by Caregivers: Effects on Parity of Treatment

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, the participant in this session will: 1.Be aware of the moral judgments used by caregivers (consciously or not) that affect the patient's healthcare -- especially options at the end-of-life. 2. Understand how clinical ethicists in hospital settings can identify this practice. 3. Be able to devolop a plan for educating caregivers in their own facilities about how and why they MUST be aware of the prejudices that render treatment parity not available to those judged socially "deviant" or "worthless"
