Abstract

This poster will present the process of conducting a Consumer Concerns Report Method (CCRM) with Perúvians with disabilities during July 1999. The CCRM is an agenda-setting tool to help involve consumers in shaping research questions and issues for later problem analysis and intervention. This CCRM report was constructed in collaboration with parents of children with developmental disabilities, persons who were deaf or blind, and persons with physical disabilities. This team of consumers helped develop a survey that was distributed to over 200 Peruvians requesting their personal identification of the importance and satisfaction of over 30 different disability concerns that might affect them in their daily lives.

The poster provides an analysis of the results of this survey and makes recommendations for further research in this area.

Learning Objectives: The audience will be able to identify the top 5 disability concerns by Perúvians with disabilities. The audience will be able to describe the Consumer Concerns Report Process and how it can be used as a disability research agenda setting tool
