Women's Use of Herbs and Dietary Supplements

This invited session will examine the utilization of herbs and other dietary supplements by American women. Prevalence of use and associations of use with positive health outcomes as well as adverse effects will be discussed. Good, clinical data, such as those from randomized, double-blind trials, will be emphasized when available. Potential solutions to American problems with herbal products such as the lack of quality controls or other enforceable standards will also be reviewed
