Pharmaceutical Controversies

This session takes up some of the "hot" controversies raging over pharmaceuticals and lower-income countries' health systems. These issues include pricing, intellectual property rights, procurement, weaknesses in delivery systems that prevent pharmaceuticals from reaching those in need, and how to stimulate research into new products serving the needs of the poor, but not rich-country consumers. Speakers represent varying points of view and interests on these topics
