Inequities in global health research: a call for action

This session will highlight a global inequity in health research - that most of the investments in health research are relevant to a minority of the global population. The featured speaker from the global forum for health research, Geneva will elaborate on the estimation of this critical inequity and the consequences for global health. Strategies to further delineate this issue and respond to it will also be presented. Two discussants - one from the developing world and one from the developed world community will then respond to this presentation from the perspective of their communities. The session is expected to be a highly interactive exchange for thinking through the development of creative partnerships to address imbalances in global health research
