Public Health Nursing and the Environment
This session will focus on the need for public health nurses to be knowledgable about the environmental conditions which affect health. Presenters will discuss needs and strategies for strenghtening public health nurses knowledge, skills and engagement in environmental health efforts.
Learning Objectives: 1. Identify nurses as critical resources in reaching the public about environmental health issues 2. Describe eduational srategies for preparing the public health nursing workforce and nursing students about environmental health 3. Discuss the integration of environmental health research into public health nursing education and practice
