This session will provide an overview of welfare reform policy and its impact on women's health. Challenges associated with monitoring health and with integrating services into welfare reform efforts will be discussed, along with presentation of a statewide TANF PHN home visiting program. | |||
Learning Objectives: 1. Describe current welfare reform policy and limitations on states' abililty to monitor the impact on health status; 2. Discuss health needs and access to care for women receiving TANF; and 3. Discuss health care and social service integration, targeted programs,and PHN's as providers and advocates | |||
