Most Americans have a vague concept of what "public health" means or can accomplish, or how greatly the work of public health professionals impacts their daily lives. An
ongoing challenge for schools of public health is to convey what they do so that people going into this field continue to improve in quality and increase in numbers. Towards this
end, via an ASPH/HRSA cooperative agreement, five Schools of Public Health were given funding to produce short, inspirational videos focusing on public health
professionals who have been pioneers in public health.
The subjects of these videos are all luminaries in public health who have devoted their lives to making advances in this field. The videos produced about them are intended to:

Learning Objectives: Participants will 1) Recognize several luminaries in public health and their accomplishments. 2) Realize the importance of inspirational figures in public health. 3) Achieve a deeper understanding of the importance of public health in daily American life. | |||
